Spring 2015 General Faculty General Election Results

The Committee on Elections is pleased to announce the results of the Spring 2015 General Faculty General Election. A total of 322 ballots, representing 12.3% of the voting faculty, were received. The results are below.

BOTH OF THE PROPOSALS TO REVISE THE CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS PASSED.

The Constitution needed 75% yes votes to pass and had 89%.

The Bylaws needed 66% yes votes to pass and had 96%.

We did not receive as many petitions as we had seats for Faculty Senator-at-Large Representatives. We still have 4 seat available. In accordance with Article VIII of the Bylaws which reads: “If vacancies occur because there were not enough candidates from a given constituency in an election, the Chair of the Faculty and the Vice Chair shall seek appropriate faculty members from that constituency who are willing to serve, and present these candidates to the Senate Executive Committee for approval, to fill those vacancies.”
