Faculty Elections

General faculty elections are overseen by the Committee on Elections and usually held during spring semester. Procedures for elections are in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the General Faculty of the University of Arizona. General faculty elections are held to elect:

  • Chair of the Faculty, Vice Chair of the Faculty, and Secretary of the Faculty in even numbered years;
  • Faculty Senators (At-Large in odd numbered years and College Representatives in even numbered years);
  • Members of the Committee of Eleven; the Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee (SPBAC); Nominating Committee; and the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure (CAFT).

Declaration of Candidacy Instructions for Spring 2018 General Election

Declaration of Candidacy form is now available and must be submitted by 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2018.

Declaration of Candidacy for:
Chair of the Faculty
Vice Chair of the Faculty
Secretary of the Faculty
thirty-one seats on the Faculty Senate College Representative
five seats on the Committee of Eleven
two seats on the Nominating Committee
two seats for elected faculty representative to the Strategic Planning and Budget Advsiory Committee (SPBAC)

Current Election

The online poll will remain open 24 hours a day until 5:00 P.M. on *Monday, February 26, 2018. 

*Due to technical difficulties, the voting online will be extended to Monday, February 26, 2018 at 5:00 P.M.

The General Faculty General Election for Chair of the Faculty, Vice Chair of the Faculty, Secretary of the Faculty, Faculty Senator College Representatives, Committee of Eleven, Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure, Nominating Committee, and the Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Committee, will take place online through February 26, 2018. Election results will be posted online no later than March 5, 2018.
